June 20 was our 8th Anniversary! Time flies when you're having fun! Drew and I celebrated by having a nice dinner out and reminiscing about the past 8 years.
Andrew also started Safety Town on Monday. Safety town is a "camp" sponsored by the Police Department to teach kids ages 4-6 about safety. This was right up Andrew's alley. It was a 2 week camp for 2 hours every day. After the first day of camp he came home, ran upstairs and put on his police dress up outfit. He's serious.
Matthew's turn |
Tuesday Matthew had his first dentist appointment with a new dentist. Drew and I prayed that he would handle this okay after his last experience. We also knew it was unlikely and Drew was prepared. Drew took him while I took Andrew to Safety Town. He called me after and said "Matthew did AMAZING". I was on top of the world and so proud of him. We went and got a special treat right away. He picked out a knight in shining armor costume. He really wanted a new truck but they were out of our price range so he settled on this.
Wednesday was Andrew and Matthew's last swim lesson. Unfortunately it had rained for a few days and a cold front had moved through. It was maybe 75 degrees outside and cold in the water. The lesson before this, Andrew had requested a "boy" swim teacher. So the girl we were going to offered to have a guy teach Andrew while she taught Matthew at the same time. This worked out much better for us as well. BUT Matthew wanted nothing to do with this last swim lesson since the water was so cold. We knew he would win this battle so she said it was no problem for him to reschedule.

Just relaxing |
Thursday was a busy day. Andrew had Safety Town, then I picked him up early to go to golf. I was supposed to take Matthew to his make up class while Andrew had golf but I called and cancelled since it was chillier than the day before and he was already complaining. Not worth it in my opinion.
